Bio
Marcus Harris enters his third season as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach on the Southwestern Christian College (SWCC) staff. A key member of the coaching team, Coach Harris has been instrumental in the steady growth and improvement of the men's basketball program since joining SWCC with Head Coach Dustin White prior to the start of the 2023-2024 season. He brings a strong focus on evaluation and preparation, which enhances athlete performance and team success.
Harris comes with extensive NCAA Division I playing experience. He began his collegiate career at the University of San Diego before transferring to Sam Houston State University. As a starter for the Bearkats, he played a pivotal role in clinching the Southland Conference Regular Season Championship and advancing to the 2019 NIT Tournament, showcasing his leadership and skill on the court.
Prior to his arrival at SWCC, Harris spent several years as a basketball trainer in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, where he developed a keen eye for talent and an understanding of athlete development.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2018, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration in 2020, both from Sam Houston State University. Harris combines his academic background with his passion for basketball to inspire and guide his athletes both on and off the court.
