SWCC Men's Mens Basketball Heads in to the Holiday Break at 8-7
As the calendar year comes to a close, the Southwestern Christian College (SWCC) Men's Basketball team has wrapped up the first half of their season with a 8-7 record, setting the stage for an exciting second semester and conference play.
As the holiday break approaches, the Southwestern Christian College (SWCC) Men's Basketball team boasts an 8-7 record. With a strong home record of 5-1, the Rams have proven to be a tough contender at Bowser Gymnasium, while also holding their own on the road with a 3-3 record.
Notable victories include thrilling wins against Hutchison College (71-68), Tyler Junior College (80-79), and Paris College (72-64), showcasing the team's resilience.
The Rams are led by returning NTJCAC All-Conference performer Donny Thomas, who shines as the top scorer with an impressive average of 16.1 points per game, highlighted by a 47.1% field goal percentage, including 41.2% from beyond the arc. Following closely is second-leading scorer Niko Smith, averaging 14.2 points per game with a stellar 49.7% shooting percentage and 7.4 rebounds per game.
Other key contributors include Daryl Banks (13.9 ppg, 3.7 rpg), Ahmare Rose (9.2 ppg, 7.5 rpg), and Sebastian Mackey (7.2 ppg), all of whom have delivered strong performances throughout the first semester.
Looking ahead, the SWCC Men's Basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, January 3, against Strength N Motion. Their conference opener is set for Wednesday, January 7, when they face Grayson College at home in Bowser Gymnasium.
